No. You don’t have to do anything, and we make it a point to not be pushy with our patients. Think about it, though: you wouldn’t go to the gym just once or twice and expect to be healthy. Some people choose to have chiropractic periodically based on an individual recommendation. You might want to see us once a month, or every few months.
But keep in mind that when you come here, our goal is to help you clear up your problem. You are never required to continue care if you don’t choose to.
Typically, there is no pain involved in an adjustment. If you have tissues that are injured, though, and the joints need to be adjusted, you may feel some discomfort. Most people feel an immediate sense of relief after an adjustment. If you have soreness afterward, you can apply ice to the area.
No. We’re realistic and know what is within the scope of chiropractic and what is beyond that. If Dr. Rahman doesn’t think chiropractic will help you, you’ll be told immediately and referred to the appropriate practitioner.
During the birthing process, the baby is pulled out of the mother. A new spine that’s delicate doesn’t respond well to this rough handling, and there may be misalignments, particularly in the neck. It takes very little pressure using just the fingertips to clear up these misalignments. As your baby grows, the child’s head is disproportionately large, and you want to make sure their neck is in shape to hold it up.
Colic doesn’t have one known simple cause. All we know is the baby is likely in pain, and that there may be a digestive component. Often, babies come in who are crying. Right after the adjustment, they tend to go to sleep, and parents report their baby doesn’t cry as often.
No. There is no physician’s referral necessary to become a patient at our office.
Usually, yes, though not all plans do. We will look at your insurance and tell you what your coverage is so that you know.
Yes, Dr. Rahman has a long history of working successfully with medical doctors. And in turn, medical doctors refer to him, knowing that their patients can get trustworthy, ethical care here.
Dr. Rahman doesn’t want to guess when it comes to your health. He likes to analyze your examination and X-rays, then explain what he’s found. For that reason, you’ll typically be adjusted on the second visit.
Yes! Our new patients attend a health class where they learn all about the exercises and stretches they can do for their particular condition.
Yes. Dr. Rahman’s technique is very specific. If you are unable to be adjusted in a certain way due to your surgery, he has other methods to safely adjust you without pain.
It’s different for every patient. You’ll have a treatment plan specifically suited to you, which can be adapted as needed. Some patients get better after a single adjustment. Others need a month or two.
If you hear a noise during your adjustment, please don’t be alarmed. There are gas bubbles in the joint, and when the joint is adjusted, it may make a sound. It’s normal and doesn’t necessarily happen every time you’re adjusted.
